Our Leadership Team

Sheza Khadijah serves as President of the Unity in Help Youth Team and is a high school senior passionate about community service, healthcare, and youth leadership. Her commitment to service was shaped by her internship at My Home Palliative Care Center in Kerala, India, where she supported patients and families, assisted with daily care, and gained firsthand insight into the challenges faced by those receiving palliative care. This experience strengthened her commitment to serving others and supporting those in need.

She combines her passion for health and advocacy through her involvement with NCPHA T-21, a student advocacy group addressing youth vaping and tobacco use in North Carolina, she has advocated at the North Carolina General Assembly, speaking with senators and representatives in support of legislation to protect youth and strengthen regulations on vape retailers.. These experiences have helped her develop communication skills, public advocacy, and working toward change at the community and state level. She serves as Science Olympiad's Social Media Manager and as Treasurer of the American Heart Club. In these roles, she lead students as they prepared for competitions and managed funds for health-focused initiatives.

Outside of academics and service, she is a first-degree black belt in Taekwondo and has earned 1st place in both sparring and forms at competition.

At Unity in Help, she brings together her experiences in healthcare, service, and youth leadership to help students get involved, take initiative, and make a difference in their communities.

Nehan Abbu serves as Vice President of Unity in Help and is a senior at Panther Creek High School. A committed community volunteer, he has contributed many hours of service through the Zakat Foundation of America, supporting food and essential-needs distribution, tutoring students, and leading fundraising efforts for clean-water initiatives. He has also served as a Leadership Intern with the National Inventors Hall of Fame, dedicating more than 120 hours to mentoring elementary students through STEM activities. His service has been recognized with three Presidential Volunteer Service Awards.

Nehan is active in STEM, design, and innovation. As a member of a FIRST Robotics Competition team, he and his teammates qualified for and competed in the FIRST World Championship in Houston. He is also an avid LEGO enthusiast who enjoys designing and building large-scale creations. For three consecutive years, he has exhibited his original builds at BrickUniverse, a LEGO fan exhibition held at the Raleigh Convention Center, where he shares his creativity and building ideas with fellow enthusiasts and visitors. Through Duke University’s Ignite program, he co-designed a health communication app aimed at improving rural healthcare access and presented the project at Duke Day.

At Unity in Help, Nehan brings together his interests in youth leadership, community service, creativity, STEM, and social impact to help young people turn ideas into meaningful action.

Ihsaan Mohammed serves as Secretary of Unity in Help and is a senior at Triangle Math and Science Academy. A committed community volunteer, he has logged more than 100 hours of service each year with the Zakat Foundation of America, where his work has spanned distributing food and essential supplies and organizing fundraisers for clean-water projects. His service has been recognized with four Presidential Volunteer Service Awards, including one Silver and three Gold. At school, he serves as Secretary of Key Club and as VP of Technology Events for the Technology Student Association.

Ihsaan is passionate about technology and innovation, and is the founder and President of his school's first-ever AI Club, now in its second year, where students learn to use AI tools to strengthen their college applications and portfolios. Under his leadership, a team of four from the club competed in the NC AI Solve-A-Thon and earned State Finalist honors. He is also a member of the CAD team for Valence Robotics, a FIRST Robotics Competition team that qualified for the FIRST World Championship. Outside of school, he enjoys video editing and digital design, and is picking up golf in his spare time.

With Unity in Help, Ihsaan wants to help other young people find real ways to give back, using the same mix of leadership, creativity, and love of service that drives everything else he does.

Faahim Ibrahim serves as Treasurer of the Unity in Help Youth Team and is a high school senior passionate about engineering, STEM, community service, and leadership. His interest in engineering has grown through his involvement in Science Olympiad and Valence, an FRC robotics team, where he works with other students to design, build, and solve complex problems in a competitive environment. These experiences have strengthened his technical and problem-solving skills while teaching him the value of teamwork, creativity, and persistence.

His commitment to service has been shaped by more than 150 hours of volunteering with the Zakat Foundation, as well as his years in Boy Scouts, where he is currently working toward becoming an Eagle Scout. Through both experiences, he has learned the importance of responsibility, consistency, and serving others. His involvement in Scouting has also given him opportunities to develop leadership skills and take on challenges that have pushed him outside of his comfort zone.

As Treasurer of Unity in Help, he helps manage the organization's finances and supports the planning and execution of service projects and initiatives. He enjoys combining his organizational skills and leadership experience with his passion for service to help turn ideas into meaningful opportunities for students and the community.

Outside of Unity in Help, he spends much of his time involved in STEM and hands-on engineering. Through Science Olympiad and FRC robotics, he enjoys taking on challenging problems and working with a team to create practical solutions. Whether he is building a robot, working toward his next scouting milestone, or helping with a community initiative, he values learning through experience and finding ways to contribute.

At Unity in Help, he hopes to bring together his interests in engineering, leadership, and service to encourage other students to get involved, take initiative, and use their own skills and passions to make a difference in their communities.
